Environmental Art: Contemporary Art in the Natural World 2012 Wall Calendar Details

As one of the most exciting art movements of our time, environmental art celebrates our connection to the natural world through beauty, science, metaphor and ecological restoration. It encompasses a surprising landscape of approaches, from ephemeral "art in nature" sculpture designed to last only a few hours before returning to the earth, to community-based "eco-art" installations which clean up polluted watersheds and promote public understanding of local and global environmental issues. The Environmental Art 2012 Wall Calendar features fifteen projects drawn from the global archives of greenmuseum.org, a not-for-profit online museum of environmental art. They provide a sampling of some of the latest developments in this field to stimulate the imagination and promote the role of art in the creation of a more sustainable world culture. The interior pages of this calendar are printed on 100% recycled, 50% post-consumer paper, processed chlorine free and printed with soy based inks. In addition to printing our products on recycled paper, Amber Lotus Publishing continues to plant trees and offset our carbon footprint with NativeEnergy.

Reviews

This is the 4th or 5th year in a row that we have purchased the Environmental Art calendar. It's always a nice surprise to turn the month over and to look at the next picture of an environmental art piece. The art pieces pictured are always things that are both interesting to look at and to think about. Our household is filled with artists, both those who live here and those who are just passersby, and all enjoy looking at the month's offering.
