Reviews
The Time-Life Library of Art series are valuable for all lovers of art and history, even though they are decades old. This volume has in-depth biographical data on the flamboyant Whister, famous for his portraiture. It details the historical context his life spanned, and the forces that impacted his work. Also there is a lot of information of other artist from the same time period. I did not personally care for the slipcase this came in -- if you only buy one volume it might prove protective, but if you acquire the entire 20+ set the slipcases are rather bulky on your shelf.
